A while back I sampled a jazz/funk drumset. It’s a small kit–a kick, snare, two toms, and two cymbals–just like something a jazz drummer would play at a gig or recording session. In terms of jazz drums, I’ve always been in favor of small kits. Skilled jazz drummers can make a single drum sound very expressive, bringing out its character.
It was with this in mind I sampled this drumset. It features unique and rare drums, and cymbals and has an excellent tone suitable for jazz and funk.
Currently this free download is available in Kontakt 2/3 format (a link to the sample library in SFZ format is at the end of this post). However, all the .WAV sample files are included in the download archive, and are labeled, making a conversion fairly straight-forward.

Man this is an excellent-sounding kit. Thanks for sharing this. I will give credit on whatever projects I might be doing with this.
[...] [www] Free Jazz Funk Drum by Orange Tree Samples – Completely different to the previous three links, these samples come from a rare jazz/funk kit. And I somehow always come up with great beats when playing with these. They were created with special attention added to expressive playing, with varying velocities, so get your shuffle on and make some funky beats. Mappings in sfz format are available here (made by PL Jones). [...]
Thank you…
THANK YOU for this great set. It’s my first drum kit choice in my recs (I do ethnic – jazz). If I ever publish something I’ll let you know and I’ll give full credits.
Just beautiful.
