The valley, to me, is about a period in time – where things progress, and then technology has a sort of ‘awkward stage’ until it gets past the hump. 8bit sounds in music progressed up until the 2001, and the past 10 years have seen companies, plugins, libraries, and more try to perfect the MIDI libraries to sound realistic, but they wind up sounding ever so slightly fake. Based on The Uncanny Valley, they would be better off to sound completely fake and just wait 10 years until the technology and knowledge finally caught up so they would sound like real instruments. I would like to be able to activate keyswitches thru MIDI CCs. I have a 25 key keyboard and I cannot access the keyswitching keys. I am more used to host automation than keyswitching anyway.
